- Suburban immediately replied to my phone message regarding our bathroom renovation and set up a time for an estimate within 48 hrs. Gary was very informative and did a thorough walk-thru of the project. His expertise immediately put us at ease. Estimates are fair and best of all, Suburban Plumbing is local. - Considering the fact that I had all the parts needed to fix my toilet, I feel it was a bit pricey. BUT, my plumber was Jim, and he was very courteous, professional, on time, and worked very quickly. He's the only service man of any kind, that continually cleaned as he went! That meant a lot to me.I would definately recommend Jim, I do not know the other guys in the company.read moreread less
- My ratings are based on a single visit so I cannot necessarily generalize to all plumbing issues being resolved as satisfactorily. That said, I am relieved that we may have finally found a reliable plumber for any future needs. They serviced our tankless water heater and made it a point to explain what they did, went so far as praise the quality of system installed (our home is 2.5 years old) and let us know that we likely have nothing to be concerned about as far as its overall functioning.read moreread less
- I needed to replace our very old water heater before it quit working altogether. I found Suburban Plumbing through Home Advisor. Gary called me within 15 minutes after I submitted the quote request. He and his partner were nearby and got here very quickly. They checked things out and gave me a quote. I had previously spent time checking prices and getting ballpark figures from friends on what the total bill might look like, so I knew I was getting a fair price. Less than 3 hours later, a new hot water heater was installed and working. They were fast, efficient, and friendly, answering all my questions. I doesn't get any better than that, and I will definitely be doing business with the company again.read moreread less
- This was a difficult job with a lot of unknowns for a 70 year old house. What started as a clogged toilet/bath turned into replacement pipes and pumping out and filling in old, old septic tanks that have not been used for over 40 years. - Gary and his assistant arrived on time for both the estimate and the work. They were polite, courteous and did everything they said they would plus they cleaned up the half bath and under the kitchen sink so well you would almost think they had not been here. - I had an absolutely wonderful experience with these guys! I had them come out to check on a sink drip and talk about possible future projects. We ended up sitting down and discussing my overall plans and it worked out that I was able to get done several other items within my budget for the one project. They were fast, efficient, and very reasonably priced! I got new shut off valve for the house and on the line from the street, new shut off valves inside for my washing machine hookup and icemaker connection, a garbage disposal and new sink installed and new water lines throughout the house. - I must give this company a glowing recommendation to anyone who is looking for a plumber who does the right thing when nobody is looking. The company replaced a long main sewer line. Suburban was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly, Gary provided an estimate within 24 hrs of initial contact. The bid was competitively priced. Gary was on site and also performed the work. Work was started and completed when promised. The replacement sewer line ran under the length of a gravel driveway. The work was completed timely, minimizing the disruption to vehicle traffic in the driveway. After completing the sewer install, Gary graded the lot and driveway. As the work disturbed the existing driveway, Gary offered to haul new gravel with his equipment. - Chuck from Suburban plumbing was great. He was very knowledgeable and did not give us any bs answer to our water heater replacement needs. He was the only plumber we got quotes from that gave us a straight, honest, and cost-effective solution to our problem. He also gave us a very decent and competitive rate and although we needed extra materials to finish the installation, he did so without billing us which he didn't have to according to our contract because he was only suppose to provide the labor and us the needed material for the install. - I would not recommend Suburban Plumbing. Gary came out and gave us a quote, and made himself available when we had questions, and to discuss our requests. We were moving toward making a decision on exactly what we wanted done, then Gary told us he would have to come back out and measure the fireplace. He also mentioned that he'd have to remove the marble surround for the replacement job. He couldn't find the exact size, but said he could still switch out the other appliance.*Boy are we glad Gary couldn't find the fireplace, 'cause we just recently did some research and realized all we have to do is pop out the glass and put in an electric log insert!...BY OURSELVES!!! So no extra expense there!*So anyway, my husband was a tad agitated about the measuring being done after the quote was given, and told Gary that we'd probably be looking for someone who could replace both. I wanted to discuss hiring Gary as we had planned, but since it was so late in the evening when we called (which I felt bad about), Gary said he could get the measurements to us the next day. I attempted to contact him the next day at a more decent hour. We never received an email, text, or returned call. If Gary chose not to do the work due to my husband's slight irritation (though my husband never fussed at him), or because of the call at night, that's fine. However, I don't understand him not relaying this to US..And knowing I was trying to get everything scheduled and waiting for his response... On their site, they boast of having great communication and operating in integrity. I don't see that implemented at this point. - My well pump broke in January of 2018. They replaced the pump ($2717.50). It broke again the next week, so they replaced the tank and pressure switch ($1850.00 more). It broke again the next week. They came out and rewired it. It broke again a few months later. They came out and rewired it again and explained that there was a bad splice in the wire. It worked for about 6 months before breaking again. I hired another company to fix the pump. The new company discovered that the pump installed was 1/2HP and the well requires 1HP. They also noted that subterranean wire was used in the well rather than submersible wire. They replaced the pump, wire and pressure switch (all for $1000). - Made the appointment with Amy and told her exactly what I was needing to have done. The appointment time was between 12:30-3:30PM on a Tuesday afternoon. Chuck (business owner) was assigned to my job. My husband was home to let Chuck in. He was on time for the appointment, which is always a plus in my book! After being shown what the job was, he informed us that it would cost us an additional $169 to do the job. I spoke with Chuck on the phone and was able to knock it down to $100. The deal I paid for as a member of Angie's List was $39 for a $100 worth of work and then had to pay an extra $100 to swap out a kitchen faucet that took only 45 minutes to do was a bit much in my opinion. Service provider was very professional and spent almost 2 hrs to make sure job was done correctly without additional charges. Would definitely use this company again.read moreread lessThe first task that Chuck tackled was to fix the leaking faucet in my master bathroom. He determined that the cause of the leak was the water hot/cold adjuster located between the shower head and faucet. Due to washers that were old and needed replacing, he knew exactly what to look for and found it at Home Depot. Once it was installed, and the water drained from the pipe, the faucet no longer had drip! What a huge, huge relief! The drip, drip, drip would no longer keep me up at night!!!! The next project Chuck tackled was determining that the water temperature within the guest bathroom faucet needed to be adjusted so that the shower would maintain the desired hot/cold ratio, rather than cooling off after only two minutes in the middle of taking a shower. It was corroborated today, by a family member, that the temperature did not fluctuate and was working perfectly! Another huge relief! The third project which Chuck tackled was to flush the 50-gallon hot water heater. He showed us how the flushing action was releasing an amazing amount of calcium! His recommendation was that at some point we install a water treatment system to prevent calcium build and avoid additional plumbing issues in the future. He also explained and showed us how the connections were beginning to corrode, and the how various hoses had been incorrectly assembled. I had no idea! So he gave me a price to get that done as well. Bonus: Chuck was kind enough to take a look at the kitchen faucet which he showed us also had calcium buildup. He blew it out as much as he could - no high tech tool needed! (smile) It did actually make the faucet once again run in a steady stream. Bottom line: When Chuck explained the benefits of the Lifetime Protection Plan, and that it was only $350.00, After a moment's thought about everything he had already accomplished, I decided to go ahead and purchase it. This includes a whole house inspection every 6 months, and a 15% discounted pricing to repair any issues that are evident during this time. Being an older house (built in 1988), the potential for serious plumbing issues is quite high, so this Protection Plan really does give me a 'warm and fuzzy' about the purchase. Additional note: It is difficult in this day and age to find someone who has integrity, and can build a trust relationship just by doing his job well and doing it right the first time. - Suburban Plumbing came out to look at an outdoor spigot which has been leaking on me for a good year or more. I purchased a deal on Angie's List to replace outdoor spigots for roughly $50 and had intended on using that to replace the leaky one. Suggested I could purchase a kit and rebuild the unit OR buy a standard toilet; said it would be cheaper to replace the toilet with a standard. He actually called around to vendors and did pricing all the time while I listened over speaker phone. Chuck also offered his company's services to install the new toilets if I purchased them from elsewhere. -- Awesome Service! Awesome Technician! About pricing - I could not believe that the type of shut off switch was over $100 (that's with the $50 Angie's List discount)! He mentioned a warranty on this part, but I don't see that in my receipt -- I should have specified this but typically, I would expect this to be printed out on the receipt. Chuck was the best!
The tech, Chuck, checked out my existing pressure assisted toilet because it was continually running water. He had to make a determination as to whether the pressure problem was because of faulty parts. - Chuck & his team came promptly for the initial inspection & water heater flush on 2/12. Inspection yielded several issues with corroded & leaky pipes & fittings. Upon further consultation, we decided to opt for a complete plumbing refit, which we thought would be beneficial to any buyer as we are selling our house soon. The work started on the 16th & was completed on the 19th. It involved a lot of noise, & nearly constant going in & out of the house. Chuck & his team of Chris & Ryan were constantly apologizing for the noise and were conscious to shut doors quietly & remove their shoes every time they entered the house. One of the fittings in an upstairs tub/shower was not properly secured, & when the water was turned back on, it caused a leak damaging the ceiling below. They cleaned up the water, & immediately called a contractor to assess the damage & repair. Once the ceiling was completely dry (about 12 days later), the contractor returned & repaired the ceiling to our satisfaction. One of the positive things that caught our attention when we first started talking with Chuck about this project was his professionalism, and how he was training another young man in the business. His is a plumbing family - dad is owner of Suburban Plumbing as was grandfather before - so it is important to him to find others who will continue the quality of service & attention to detail that Chuck adheres to. Their work is all warranted. Very good experience.read moreread lessWe had to have other contractors come in and fix their work. Everything they did was a mess and not up to code. It cost me another 8 grand to fix what they did and then finish the work. We did not realize we were being taken advantage of until we had to correct the work they did. They did not give us the shower head we asked for, advised us to get an installed the wrong kind of tub spout, the spout they installed was for a hot tub. Placed the light switch dangerously close to pipes, all around a hot mess. SO much more than I can list.read moreread less

- They installed new water and drain lines for a new vanity in our master bathroom. Then they took out the old drain and water lines from the location of the previous vanities . Outstanding work and at a fair price. One company that I contacted wanted 50% down just to schedule the work. Suburban didn?t ask for payment until the job was done.read moreread less
- One of the owners of this plumbing company is not trustworthy, he tells you that he is going to do something, but does not keep his word. I used to deal with Charles one of the owners, he was a little rough around the corners, but he kept his word, unlike the G. I bought a lifetime service contract with them, and payed up front (don't know if that is legal), so I guess I'm stuck with them, they do not even have the courtesy of return your phone calls.read moreread lessMy well pump broke in January of 2018. No response from Suburban Plumbing regarding my complaint that they charged $4500 for a job that never really fixed my well pump. I am really discouraged and disappointed in the work (both diagnostic and installation) by Suburban Plumbing.read moreread less

He made himself available when we had questions and wanted to discuss our requests. We were moving toward making a decision on exactly what we wanted done, then Gary told us he would have to come back out to measure one of the appliance to be replaced. He couldn't find the exact size we needed, but said he could still switch out the other appliance. My husband was a tad agitated about this having to be done after the quote was given, and told Gary that we'd probably be looking for someone who could replace both. I wanted to discuss the measurements, and hiring Gary as we had planned, but since it was so late in the evening when we called (which I felt bad about), Gary said he could get the measurements to us the next day. ALL WE NEEDED WAS FOR GARY TO COMMUNICATE THAT HE NO LONGER WANTED TO WORK WITH US! THAT'S ALL!! Unfortunately, I would not recommend this company.read moreread less
If you need an expert, honest, straightforward, and affordable solution to your plumbing, you should consider Chuck and his family run business at Suburban Plumbing. They are good people.read moreread less

- Repair a Tankless Water Heater System My ratings are based on a single visit so I cannot necessarily generalize to all plumbing issues being resolved as satisfactorily.

I was kept informed every step of the way. Each process fully explained, including costs involved.
